GlobalChem Innovations is seeking a highly skilled Senior Chemical Engineer to lead process design and optimization for large-scale chemical manufacturing projects in Houston. This role blends technical leadership with cross-functional collaboration to deliver safe, reliable, and economically competitive operations.
As a key member of our Process Engineering team, you will drive scale-up from pilot to plant, manage process safety programs, and mentor junior engineers. You will partner with Operations, Instrumentation, and Plant Chemistry to optimize energy use, reduce emissions, and improve product quality.

Responsibility
- Lead process design and scale-up activities for petrochemical and specialty chemical projects from concept through commissioning.
- Optimize flowsheets, energy integration, and mass balance calculations to improve yield and cost efficiency.
- Develop and implement process safety management (PSM) programs, including HazOp studies and risk assessments.
- Oversee pilot plant testing, data analysis, and model validation using Aspen Plus/HYSYS or ChemCAD.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, Quality Assurance, and supply chain to ensure reliability, compliance, and timely project delivery.
- Lead cross-functional teams, manage external vendors, and drive project schedules and budgets.
- Prepare technical reports, process descriptions, and regulatory documentation as required.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering; Master’s preferred; Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in chemical/process engineering within petrochemical, polymers, or specialty chemicals sectors.
- Proficiency with process simulation and optimization tools (Aspen Plus/HYSYS, ChemCAD) and strong Excel-based modeling.
- Strong knowledge of process safety, PSM, RCA, HazOp, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience with scale-up, pilot plant operations, and transfer to full-scale production.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills; proven project management ability.
- Authorized to work in the United States; willing to travel up to 20% as needed.
