In this role you will partner with R&D, operations, and safety teams to deliver robust, cost-effective solutions that meet stringent quality and environmental standards. You will own process simulations, PFDs and P&IDs, equipment sizing, and energy integration, while mentoring junior engineers and shaping the next generation of process excellence.

Responsibility
- Lead process design and optimization across reaction, separation, and purification steps to meet safety and performance targets
- Develop and validate PFDs and P&IDs, and conduct rigorous process simulations using Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, or CHEMCAD
- Scale processes from lab to pilot to full-scale plant, ensuring reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance
- Perform safety analysis including HAZOP, LOPA, and risk assessments; implement mitigation strategies
- Collaborate with R&D, operations, procurement, and quality teams to deliver robust, cost-effective solutions
- Mentor junior engineers, review technical work, and contribute to training programs
- Prepare detailed technical reports, justify capital investments, and present findings to senior leadership
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering; MS or PhD preferred
- 5+ years of process engineering experience in chemical, petrochemical, or biotech industries
- Proficiency with process simulation tools including Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, CHEMCAD; strong data analytics
- Experience with PFD, P&ID development, equipment sizing, heat integration, energy balances
- Strong knowledge of process safety, OSHA NFPA standards, and HAZOP/LOPA
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills
- Ability to travel up to 15% and work across multiple sites as needed
- Demonstrated ability to mentor teams and deliver on project milestones
