Join NexaChem Solutions, a leader in chemical process engineering and sustainable solutions. We are seeking a Senior Chemical Engineer to lead design projects from concept through commissioning, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams across a global network.

In this role, you will drive process optimization, scale-up activities, and safety-first design across petrochemical, specialty chemicals, and green chemistry projects. You will influence project scope, deliverables, and technical excellence while mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibility

  • Lead process design, simulation, and scale-up activities from concept through commissioning for chemical manufacturing projects.
  • Perform mass and energy balances, reactor design, heat integration, and separation processes to optimize performance and cost.
  • Conduct HAZOPs, risk assessments, and compliance reviews to ensure safety and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with R&D, operations, and project management to define scope, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Develop and review PFDs and P&IDs; participate in design reviews, commissioning, and start-up activities.
  • Identify energy efficiency opportunities and implement utility optimization and process intensification strategies.
  • Mentor junior engineers, lead technical reviews, and contribute to knowledge sharing across teams.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering; Master’s preferred; 5+ years of relevant process engineering experience.
  • Proficiency with process simulation tools (Aspen Plus, HYSYS, CHEMCAD); familiarity with CFD is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of HAZOP, P&ID development, PFD creation, and process safety principles.
  • Solid understanding of reaction engineering, heat transfer, energy integration, and separation processes; scale-up experience.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills; ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or eligibility; US work authorization required.
