We are seeking a results-driven Senior Chemical Process Engineer to lead design, scale-up, and optimization efforts across our manufacturing platforms. You will work cross-functionally with R&D, operations, and safety teams to deliver robust, cost-effective processes that meet quality and environmental standards.
As a key member of our Engineering team, you will drive process improvements, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to capital project evaluations from concept through commissioning. This role offers the opportunity to influence large-scale production and advance innovative chemistries in a dynamic, industry-leading organization.
Responsibility
- Lead process design and optimization for new and existing chemical production lines, including mass and energy balances, equipment selection, and process safety analyses.
- Own scale-up strategy from lab to pilot to full-scale production, ensuring transfer accuracy and robust performance.
- Develop and maintain process simulations, PFDs/P&IDs, and operating procedures; support capital project justifications.
- Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and quality teams to meet product specifications, yield targets, and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Lead hazard analysis, risk assessments, and compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Mentor engineers and technicians; provide technical guidance and training on process control strategies and troubleshooting.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean/Six Sigma methodologies and data analytics to enhance reliability and efficiency.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering; MS/PhD preferred.
- 8+ years of relevant chemical process design, scale-up, or operations experience in petrochemicals, specialty chemicals, or polymers.
- Proficiency with process simulation tools (Aspen HYSYS/ Aspen Plus, CHEMCAD) and data analytics platforms.
- Strong understanding of mass and energy balances, reactor engineering, heat exchangers, and separation processes.
- Experience with CAPEX project lifecycle, commissioning, and start-up support.
- Demonstrated leadership, project management, and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements (REACH, TSCA, OSHA, environmental permits) and HSE best practices.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills; ability to influence stakeholders and drive results.
