We are seeking a Senior Chemical Process Engineer to lead critical plant design, optimization, and scale up initiatives across our US operations. Responsibility
- Lead conceptual and detailed process design for major production units, including reaction systems, separation trains, and energy integration.
- Develop and validate process simulations using Aspen HYSYS or equivalent tools to optimize yields and energy consumption.
- Perform kinetic and thermodynamic analyses, mass and energy balances, and PFD / P&ID development.
- Manage process safety activities including HAZOPs, MOC reviews, and risk assessments with a focus on risk reduction.
- Plan and supervise pilot plant tests, scale up studies, and technology transfer to manufacturing sites.
- Collaborate with project teams on CAPEX estimation, schedule, and commissioning support while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Mentor junior engineers, review design deliverables, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Work with cross functional teams to implement process control strategies and optimization initiatives that deliver measurable results.
Qualification
- Bachelor or higher in chemical engineering or related field with 5+ years of industrial experience in chemical processing or petrochemicals
- Strong expertise in process simulation tools such as HYSYS or Aspen Plus and MATLAB
- Experience with PFD and P&ID development and process safety methodologies including HAZOP
- Proven track record in scale up from lab or pilot to full production with successful project delivery
- Excellent analytical problem solving and data driven decision making
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with ability to lead cross functional teams
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and HSE policies applicable to chemical manufacturing
- Eligible to work in the United States and willing to travel up to 15-20% per year
