Join ApexChem Solutions in Houston as a Senior Chemical Process Engineer. Drive innovative process design, optimization, and safety improvements across our petrochemical and specialty chemical operations.
We seek a results-driven professional who can translate process data into scalable designs, mentor engineers, and collaborate with operations, HSE, and project teams to deliver economically sound projects on time.
Responsibility
- Lead the design and optimization of chemical processes from concept through commissioning.
- Develop and validate process simulations using Aspen Plus, HYSYS, or comparable tools.
- Perform mass and energy balances, PFDs, and heat integration studies.
- Lead safety, environmental compliance, and risk assessment activities.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and procurement to ensure robust, scalable implementations.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers; participate in design reviews and project planning.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables; support scale-up from lab to plant.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering; Master’s preferred.
- 5+ years of chemical process engineering experience in petrochemical or specialty chemicals.
- Strong expertise in process simulation (Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and data analysis; CFD is a plus.
- Experience with PFDs, P&IDs, heat integration, and process safety management.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance, environmental health and safety standards.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and project management skills; ability to lead cross-functional teams.
