Job description

NovaChem Solutions is a leading chemical engineering firm specializing in scalable process design, optimization, and safety compliance for petrochemical, specialty chemicals, and pharmaceutical sectors. We are seeking a Senior Chemical Process Engineer to lead multidisciplinary projects from concept to commissioning and start-up.

Responsibility

  • Lead process design and optimization of chemical production lines using simulation tools and industry best practices.
  • Develop PFDs, P&IDs, mass and energy balances; ensure design integrity, operability, and safety compliance.
  • Lead reactor design and scale-up from lab to pilot to full-scale plant, including kinetic modeling and heat/mass transfer analysis.
  • Collaborate with DCS/SCADA, instrumentation, and operations teams to implement robust control strategies and safe operating procedures.
  • Perform HAZOPs, LOPA analyses, and risk assessments; ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
  • Manage project scope, timeline, and budget; mentor junior engineers and coordinate cross-functional teams (procurement, construction, quality).
  • Identify energy efficiency opportunities and drive process optimization to reduce emissions and operating costs.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of process design, scale-up, or operations experience in petrochemical, specialty chemicals, or pharmaceutical sectors.
  • Proficiency with Aspen Plus/HYSYS, MATLAB, and other process simulation tools; experience with CFD is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of PFDs/PLDs, mass and energy balances, and data analytics.
  • Experience in FEED or EPC project lifecycle; demonstrated leadership and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred; or ability to obtain licensure.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment with remote teams.
