TerraNova Civil & Infrastructure is seeking a results-driven Senior Civil Engineer to lead complex municipal and transportation projects in the Houston metro area. Responsibility

  • Lead civil design for municipal and transportation projects (grading, drainage, utilities, roadway design) from concept through construction.
  • Prepare and review design calculations and reports for hydrology, hydraulics, drainage, utilities, and roadway elements.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (survey, geotechnical, structures, environmental) and external stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Mentor junior engineers and CAD technicians; oversee production teams and enforce quality control standards and BIM processes (Civil 3D, BIM).
  • Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and resource plans; monitor progress and manage risks.
  • Interface with clients and government agencies; present design options, cost estimates, and permit strategies.
  • Provide construction-phase support; review shop drawings, respond to RFI, and resolve field issues.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas or ability to obtain within 12 months.
  • 5+ years of progressive civil design experience, including municipal and transportation projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation; experience with BIM workflow.
  • Strong knowledge of AASHTO, MUTCD, IBC, and local codes; familiarity with Texas DOT standards is a plus.
  • Experience with hydrology/hydraulics modeling (HEC-HMS/HEC-RAS, SWMM) and stormwater management.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and client-management skills; ability to lead teams and manage multiple projects.
  • Willingness to travel within the region and occasionally to project sites.
