Summit Civil & Infrastructure is seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer to lead complex infrastructure and structural projects in Chicago. This role combines design, project leadership, and client collaboration to deliver safe, sustainable, and cost-effective outcomes.
As a project lead, you will oversee multi-disciplinary teams, manage budgets and schedules, and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.

Responsibility
- Lead the design, analysis, and review of civil and structural systems from concept through construction.
- Oversee multi-disciplinary design teams, budgets, and project schedules to ensure timely delivery.
- Coordinate with architects, clients, and contractors; prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards (IBC, AASHTO, ACI, etc.) and perform risk assessments.
- Conduct site visits, supervise construction administration, and respond to RFIs and change orders.
- Develop and pursue project proposals, proposals for new work, and QA/QC processes.
- Mentor junior engineers and support professional development within the team.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; PE license in Illinois preferred or ability to obtain within 12 months.
- Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in civil/structural design and project management.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, and hydraulic/hydrology modeling tools; strong knowledge of IBC, AASHTO, ACI standards.
- Experience with site/civil design, drainage, utilities, grading, road design, and stormwater management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to prepare reports, present to clients, and lead meetings.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, risk, and client expectations; strong leadership and collaboration.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required; valid driver's license.
