GlobalLingo Solutions is seeking a Senior Conference Interpreter to join our elite Language Services team in Washington, DC. This role demands exceptional linguistic accuracy, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to perform under pressure in high-stakes environments.
As a Senior Conference Interpreter, you will deliver high-quality interpretation across conferences, board meetings, legal proceedings, medical briefings, and corporate events. You will collaborate with clients, speakers, and fellow interpreters to ensure real-time language transfer that preserves meaning, tone, and nuance.

Responsibility
- Provide accurate simultaneous and consecutive interpretation for conferences, meetings, negotiations, and events.
- Prepare and maintain subject-glossaries; conduct terminology research and ensure consistency across all tasks.
- Set up, test, and operate interpretation equipment (booths, consoles, microphones) and support remote platforms as needed.
- Collaborate with clients, speakers, and technicians to plan agenda flow and ensure equitable communication.
- Maintain confidentiality, neutrality, and professional standards in all engagements.
- Deliver pre-event briefings and post-event debriefs to improve service quality and client satisfaction.
- Mentor junior interpreters, contribute to team workflows, and participate in quality assurance processes.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Interpretation, Translation, Linguistics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum 5 years of professional interpretation experience in both simultaneous and consecutive modes, preferably in conferences or legal/medical settings.
- Native or near-native fluency in English with professional proficiency in two or more languages; additional languages a plus.
- Certification such as NAD, AIIC, CMI, or equivalent credentials is preferred.
- Excellent memory, note-taking, research skills, and ability to develop and manage glossaries.
- Proficiency with interpretation equipment and remote platforms (e.g., Zoom, Webex, Interprefy); comfortable with travel when required.
- Strong professionalism, discretion, and ability to work under tight deadlines in dynamic environments.
- Excellent public speaking, interpersonal, and cross-cultural communication skills.
