NovaBuild Construction Group is seeking a skilled Senior Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team in Los Angeles. You will lead estimating efforts on commercial projects, collaborate with project teams, and help deliver projects on time and within budget. Responsibility
- Lead and manage cost estimation processes for commercial projects from pre-bid through close-out.
- Prepare accurate hard-bid and conceptual estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor quotes.
- Develop and maintain project budgets, risk registers, and change order tracking.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to develop cost-saving solutions.
- Review drawings and specifications for completeness and constructability; ensure compliance with codes and standards.
- Prepare bid proposals and respond to requests from general contractors, presenting to executives as needed.
- Monitor project performance, update forecasts, and drive cost control and value engineering.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of construction estimating experience in commercial projects.
- Proficiency with estimation tools (RSMeans, PlanSwift, Bluebeam) and design software (AutoCAD, Revit).
- Strong knowledge of building codes, materials, and cost databases.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications; strong attention to detail.
- Experience with subcontractor sourcing and bid development; effective bid management.
