Job description

BrightVolt Technologies is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our growing hardware team in Austin, TX. You will design, simulate, and validate high-performance electrical systems for cutting-edge products across energy, automotive, and industrial markets.

As a key contributor, you will collaborate with mechanical, software, and test teams to deliver robust hardware solutions on schedule and within budget. We value creative problem-solving, hands-on experimentation, and a strong commitment to quality and safety.

In this role you will own system-level design, drive verification strategies, and contribute to the development of scalable manufacturing processes.

Responsibility

  • Lead end-to-end electrical design from concept through production release for complex products.
  • Perform analog and digital circuit design, power electronics, and system integration.
  • Develop and validate schematics, PCB layouts, and enclosure considerations in collaboration with ME and RF teams.
  • Create test plans, run simulations, and analyze results to ensure performance and reliability.
  • Own verification and validation activities, including environmental testing and EMC/EMI considerations.
  • Collaborate with software and firmware teams to enable robust hardware-software integration.
  • Define and maintain documentation, specifications, and design reviews.
  • Mentor junior engineers and participate in design-for-manufacturing efforts.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master’s degree preferred. 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, power electronics, and control systems.
  • Proficiency with circuit simulation tools (SPICE), MATLAB/Simulink, and PCB design software (Altium, Eagle, or equivalent).
  • Experience with embedded systems and firmware integration on microcontrollers and DSPs.
  • Familiarity with industry standards (IEC, UL) and EMI/EMC considerations.
  • Excellent problem-solving, written and verbal communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment and manage multiple priorities.
