Job description
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Electrical Engineer to join our growing team in San Jose. This role focuses on design, development, and industrialization of power electronics, high-efficiency converters, and embedded hardware for cutting-edge products. You will collaborate with mechanical, software, and manufacturing teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions from concept to production.
Ideal candidates bring hands-on hardware experience, strong analytical skills, and a track record of delivering reliable hardware in high-volume settings. If you are passionate about pushing the boundaries of energy conversion and electro-mechanical systems, we want to hear from you.
Responsibility
- Lead the design, prototyping, and verification of power electronic converters (DC-DC, DC-AC) and high-efficiency architectures.
- Own hardware development cycles from requirements through qualification, including DFM/DFX and reliability testing.
- Develop and validate models using SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, and PSIM to optimize performance and efficiency.
- Collaborate with PCB/EDA teams to create robust schematics, layouts, and BOMs for both prototyping and production.
- Drive thermal management strategies, thermal simulations, and cooling solutions for high-power devices.
- Lead EMI/EMC design, test plans, and compliance activities for regulatory requirements (e.g., FCC, CISPR).
- Mentor junior engineers, perform design reviews, and foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
- Interface with manufacturing partners to transfer designs to production and support pilot runs.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; 5+ years in power electronics or hardware design.
- Strong experience with DC-DC/DC-AC converters, motor drive systems, or battery management systems.
- Proficiency in PCB layout (Altium/Cadence) and EDA tools; hands-on debugging skills and lab equipment proficiency.
- Solid understanding of Analog/Digital circuits, signal integrity, EMI/EMC, and thermal management.
- Programming skills in C/C++, Python, and MATLAB/Simulink for modelling and tests.
- Proven track record of delivering hardware in high-volume manufacturing and knowledge of DFM/DFX.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and project leadership abilities.
- U.S. work authorization or eligibility to work in the United States.
