Job description
NovaTech Systems, a leading innovator in power electronics and energy solutions, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to drive high-efficiency power conversion projects for automotive, grid storage, and industrial applications. You will design, simulate, validate, and deliver robust hardware and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
In this role you will own multiple projects from concept to production, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to a culture of engineering excellence.
Responsibility
- Lead end-to-end design of power electronics modules, including DC-DC converters, inverters, motor drives, and charging topologies.
- Run circuit simulations (MATLAB/Simulink, SPICE) and perform thermal, EMI/EMC, and reliability analyses to meet stringent targets.
- Develop PCB layouts, select components, and implement design-for-test (DFT) and design-for-manufacture (DFM) practices.
- Collaborate with firmware and controls teams to implement robust digital control algorithms and protection schemes.
- Own validation planning, test procedures, and hardware-in-the-loop testing; lead qualification and certification efforts.
- Prepare technical documentation, specifications, and interface control documents; support production transfer and scale-up.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers, participate in design reviews, and contribute to technical strategy.
Qualification
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in power electronics or embedded power systems.
- Strong proficiency in circuit simulation tools (MATLAB/Simulink, SPICE/LTSpice) and PCB design tools (Altium, Cadence).
- Deep knowledge of DC-DC/AC-DC converters, motor drives, battery management systems, and thermal management.
- Experience with EMC/EMI testing and compliance; familiarity with IEC/UL standards.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and project leadership capabilities.
- Proven track record of delivering hardware from concept to production in a multi-disciplinary environment.
