Job description
Join a premium electrical engineering team focused on shaping the future of power electronics and embedded control systems. We design and deploy high-reliability hardware for energy storage, electric mobility, and industrial automation. This is a senior role that emphasizes technical excellence, collaboration, and impact.
Based in Austin, TX, you will own hardware design from concept through qualification, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with product, software, and manufacturing teams to deliver robust solutions.
Responsibility
- Lead end-to-end hardware design for analog, power, and mixed-signal circuits, from specification through production release.
- Develop schematics and PCB layouts, select components, and oversee layout optimizations for performance and manufacturability.
- Perform simulations (SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink) and thermal/EMI analyses to validate designs under real-world conditions.
- Collaborate with firmware, software, and mechanical teams to integrate control algorithms with hardware.
- Create and execute verification plans, test procedures, and qualification tests in line with IEC/IEEE standards.
- Provide technical leadership, design reviews, and mentoring for junior engineers.
- Support manufacturing during ramp-up, resolve field issues, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
- 5+ years of professional experience in power electronics, analog design, or related discipline.
- Strong proficiency in PCB design tools (Altium, Cadence) and circuit simulation (SPICE, LTspice, MATLAB).
- Hands-on experience with embedded control systems, MCUs/DSPs, and firmware integration.
- Solid knowledge of EMC/EMI, electrical safety standards, thermal management, and reliability testing.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills; proven project leadership.
- PE license or pursuit of professional licensure is a plus; willingness to travel up to 20%.
