Job description
Join PulseVolt Systems, a leading innovator in electrical engineering solutions. We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to drive design and development across power systems, embedded controls, and high-reliability electronics. This role blends hands-on hardware work with system-level thinking, delivering scalable, compliant, and production-ready solutions.
Based in Austin, TX (hybrid eligible), you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate customer needs into elegant, robust designs. You will own design verification, risk assessment, and documentation, mentoring junior engineers as part of a high-performance organization.
Responsibility
- Lead mixed-signal and power electronics design for new products, from concept to production.
- Develop and validate schematics, PCB layouts, and enclosure interfaces using CAD tools.
- Perform circuit simulations (SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink) and drive verification plans.
- Own power integrity, EMC/EMI considerations, and safety compliance per IEC/UL standards.
- Collaborate with Mechanical, Firmware, and Manufacturing teams to optimize cost, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Mentor junior engineers, review designs, and contribute to design-for-test strategies.
- Support product qualification, troubleshooting, and field issue resolution.
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and risk assessments for release.
Qualification
- Bachelor's or master's in Electrical Engineering or related field; PE optional.
- Minimum 5+ years in electrical design, preferably with power electronics or embedded systems.
- Strong experience with analog/digital circuit design, PCB layout, and CAD tools (Altium, OrCAD, KiCad).
- Proficient in SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, and PCB thermal analysis; familiar with EMC/EMI and IEC/UL standards.
- Experience with firmware interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C) and microcontrollers; knowledge of embedded C is a plus.
- Hands-on prototyping, testing, and failure analysis; strong problem-solving and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management abilities; eligible to work in the US.
