BrightGrid Engineering is seeking a Senior Electrical Power Engineer to lead design and implementation of electrical power systems for utility-scale and commercial projects. Responsibility
- Lead design, analysis, and optimization of electrical power systems (HV/LV) for renewables, transmission, and industrial projects.
- Perform short circuit studies, protection coordination, arc flash assessment, and relay setting calculations.
- Develop single line diagrams, protection schematics, and equipment lists using ETAP, DIGSILENT, SKM, and AutoCAD.
- Coordinate with clients, EPC contractors, and utility stakeholders to ensure on time, on budget delivery.
- Ensure grid code compliance documentation and technical specifications for project approvals.
- Mentor junior engineers, review technical deliverables, and lead design validation sessions.
- Support commissioning, startup, and acceptance testing; troubleshoot field issues and drive continuous improvement.
- Maintain rigorous safety and quality practices and contribute to process improvements.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of power systems experience; PE license preferred or active pursuit.
- Strong knowledge of HV/LV distribution, protection relays, SCADA, and commissioning methodologies.
- Proficient with ETAP, SKM, DIGSILENT, PLS-CADD, AutoCAD, and Revit.
- Experience with IEEE, NEC, IEC standards; familiarity with NERC CIP is a plus.
- Excellent communication, client-facing skills, and project management capabilities.
- Ability to travel up to 20 to project sites and work in diverse environments.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and teamwork skills.
