Join Aurora Power Systems, a leader in electrical power engineering solutions for utilities, data centers, and industrial facilities. We are seeking a Senior Electrical Power Engineer to design, analyze, and optimize power systems that are reliable, safe, and compliant with industry standards.
In this role you will lead multi-disciplinary projects, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with clients to deliver robust solutions from concept through commissioning.
Responsibility
- Lead the design and analysis of medium- and high-voltage power systems, including generation, transmission, distribution, and substations.
- Perform system studies (short-circuit, load flow, protection coordination) using PSS/E, ETAP, or SKM.
- Develop protection schemes, relay settings, and coordination studies.
- Oversee project execution from concept through commissioning, including design reviews, FAT, SAT.
- Coordinate with clients, vendors, and field teams; ensure safety and compliance with NEC, IEEE standards.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
- Support commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimization in live environments.
- Prepare technical proposals, reports, and permit documentation.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (MS preferred) with 5+ years of experience in electrical power systems.
- Proficiency in power system analysis software (PSS/E, ETAP, SKM) and IEEE/IEC standards.
- Experience with protection relays, arc-flash analysis, and switchgear design.
- Knowledge of electrical codes (NEC, NFPA, IEC 61850) and industry standards.
- Strong project management and client-facing communication skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally in multi-discipline teams; willingness to travel occasionally.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
