Enerion Power Solutions is a premier engineering firm delivering cutting-edge electrical power systems for utilities, industrial facilities, and renewable projects. We are seeking a Senior Electrical Power Engineer to lead studies, design, and implementation across Houston and adjacent markets. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, engage with clients, and contribute to safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
As part of our team, you will apply your expertise in power system analysis, protection schemes, and project execution to deliver robust electrical infrastructure that powers modern grids and facilities.
Responsibility
- Lead comprehensive power system studies (load flow, short-circuit, transient analyses) using ETAP, PSS/E, SKM, or PSCAD.
- Develop and validate protective relay schemes and coordination studies to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Design HV/LV distribution, substations, switchgear, transformers, and grounding systems for renewables and industrial facilities.
- Prepare technical specifications, perform equipment sizing, cable routing, and layout drawings; coordinate with procurement and construction teams.
- Manage projects, including scope, schedule, budget, risk assessment, and client communications.
- Lead commissioning and startup activities, witness tests, and handover documentation.
- Ensure compliance with NEC, IEEE standards, NERC requirements, and company safety policies; contribute to design quality reviews.
Qualification
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering with emphasis on power systems; PE license preferred.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in electrical power systems design, studies, protection, and commissioning for utilities, renewables, or industrial facilities.
- Proficiency with ETAP, PSS/E, SKM, AutoCAD Electrical, and Revit; experience with SCADA integration is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of NEC/NFPA 70, IEEE standards, and NERC reliability criteria.
- Experience with protection relays (SEL, GE, ABB) and protection coordination studies.
- Excellent analytical, leadership, and client-facing communication skills; proven ability to manage multiple projects.
- Ability to travel to project sites as needed (>10%).
