Job description
Micron Semiconductors is seeking a results-driven Senior Engineer to lead Ultra Pure Water UPW and Waste Water Treatment WWT construction initiatives for semiconductor manufacturing environments. This role blends hands-on engineering with project leadership to ensure reliable, state-of-the-art water systems that meet stringent purity, safety, and environmental standards.
In this construction focused position, you will oversee the design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and ongoing operation of UPW and WWT facilities. You will collaborate with process engineers, vendors, and contractors to deliver scalable solutions that support high-yield production while minimizing risk and downtime. You will also prepare progress reports, present system performance data, and provide recommendations to stakeholders to drive continuous improvement.
We are looking for a communicative, analytical professional who thrives in a fast paced, highly regulated semiconductor setting. If you have a track record of delivering robust water treatment solutions on time and on budget, we want to hear from you.
You will ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations, develop documentation, and mentor junior engineers. The role requires coordinating across functions and vendors to meet project milestones while maintaining high quality standards.
Responsibility
- Lead the design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and startup of UPW and WWT systems for semiconductor facilities.
- Develop and manage project plans, budgets, schedules, and contractor performance to ensure on-time delivery.
- Monitor system performance, collect data, generate reports, and present findings to stakeholders with clear recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards (ISO 9001/14001, SEMI guidelines) throughout all phases.
- Collaborate with process engineers to optimize water chemistry, filtration, RO/DI systems, and waste handling for reliability and purity.
- Oversee site commissioning, performance testing, and transfer to operations, including training and knowledge transfer.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams, manage vendor relationships, and provide technical mentorship to junior engineers.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Environmental, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in UPW or wastewater treatment in semiconductor, microelectronics, or related high-purity manufacturing environments.
- Strong knowledge of UPW processes (RO, DI, EDI), water chemistry, CIP, and cleanroom considerations.
- Experience with piping, instrumentation, control systems, SCADA/PLC, and related design tools (AutoCAD preferred).
- Proven project management and contractor coordination skills, with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Excellent communication, data analysis, and presentation abilities; able to translate technical concepts for stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel to sites as required and adapt to a fast paced production environment.
