BluePlanet Environmental Solutions is seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer to lead impactful projects across water resources, remediation, and regulatory compliance. This full-time role is based in Seattle, WA, offering hybrid collaboration with fieldwork and remote work possibilities.
As a key member of our environmental team, you will design sustainable solutions, perform risk assessments, manage client relationships, and mentor junior staff to deliver high-quality outcomes.
Responsibility
- Lead and manage environmental engineering projects from scope to delivery, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget adherence.
- Design and optimize water resources, stormwater management, and remediation strategies using industry-standard tools.
- Prepare and coordinate permit applications, environmental impact assessments, and regulatory submissions with agencies.
- Collect and analyze environmental data, perform modeling, and interpret results to inform design decisions.
- Collaborate with civil, geotechnical, and regulatory teams to develop integrated solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to project teams.
- Engage with clients, present findings, and support business development efforts.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, quality management systems, and workplace safety protocols.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in environmental or civil engineering; master's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of professional experience in environmental engineering with a focus on water resources, remediation, or permitting.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain PE in Washington within 12 months.
- Proficiency with CAD, GIS, and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM).
- Strong knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations and permitting processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with client-facing experience.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
- Willingness to travel for site assessments and client meetings as needed.
