BluePlanet Environmental, Inc. is seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer to lead sustainable design and regulatory compliance across municipal and industrial projects. Responsibility
- Lead environmental engineering design for water, wastewater, and stormwater projects from feasibility through construction.
- Manage permitting, regulatory approvals, and environmental impact assessments in coordination with clients and agencies.
- Develop hydraulic models, mass balance analyses, and treatment process simulations to optimize performance and lifecycle costs.
- Support field investigations, site assessments, sampling plans, and monitoring programs.
- Mentor junior engineers, supervise project teams, and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Drive sustainable design decisions using data analytics, GIS, and risk assessment tools.
- Prepare technical reports, permit applications, and client presentations for diverse stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to deliver on schedule and within budget while maintaining high environmental standards.
Qualification
- Bachelor or Master of Science in Environmental Engineering or related field; PE license preferred
- 5+ years of professional experience in environmental systems design and permitting
- Proven experience with water supply, wastewater, and stormwater projects
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations including EPA, state and local permits, NEPA/SEQR, and compliance documentation
- Proficiency with GIS (ArcGIS/QGIS), AutoCAD or Civil 3D, and water/wastewater modeling tools
- Excellent communication, presentation, and client management skills
- Project management experience with ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Strong analytical thinker with collaborative problem solving abilities
