Join Environ Consulting Services, a leading environmental and sustainable design practice based in Kuala Lumpur. We are seeking a Senior Environmental Sustainable Design Engineer, ESD - Buildings to lead innovative, energy-efficient design solutions for our building projects. In this role, you will integrate environmental performance with architectural vision, drive decarbonization, and deliver measurable sustainability outcomes across lifecycle stages. You will collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients to design high-performance buildings that meet local codes and international green building standards.
Key focus areas include energy efficiency, passive design, thermal comfort, daylighting, water management, materials selection, and data-driven ESD strategies. You will leverage modeling tools and performance metrics to validate design decisions and optimize lifecycle costs while maintaining project schedules.

Responsibility
- Lead and coordinate environmental sustainable design solutions for new builds and renovation projects, ensuring alignment with client objectives and budgets.
- Develop energy models, thermal envelopes, solar shading, and passive design strategies to optimize energy use and occupant comfort.
- Collaborate with architects, MEP engineers, contractors, and consultants to integrate ESD outcomes into architectural and engineering workflows.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes and international standards (LEED, BREEAM, Green Mark) and support certification processes.
- Perform life-cycle cost analyses and post-occupancy performance reviews to inform design decisions and business cases.
- Prepare clear, persuasive technical reports, proposals, and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
- Support business development through proposal coordination, market research, and client engagement.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote knowledge transfer within the team.
Qualification
- Bachelor's or higher degree in mechanical, civil, environmental engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 7 years' experience in sustainable building design and ESD delivery.
- Strong proficiency in energy modeling tools (eg, IES VE, OpenStudio, eQUEST) and building physics.
- Solid understanding of local regulations, standards, and green building rating schemes (LEED, BREEAM, Green Mark).
- Professional engineering license (PE) or equivalent is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, report-writing, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and work collaboratively in a multicultural APAC environment.
