Join Aurora Atelier, a premium fashion brand renowned for modern silhouettes and elevated fabrics. We are seeking a Senior Fashion Designer to lead the design direction across women's and accessible luxury categories in our New York City studio.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate trends into commercial product, mentor junior designers, and uphold our brand's design language from concept to production.
Responsibilities include spearheading seasonal design development, overseeing tech packs, and presenting concepts to stakeholders and buyers. A strong eye for color, materiality, and craft is essential.
Responsibility
- Lead end-to-end design development from concept to product delivery for multiple categories.
- Translate trend research into commercially viable collections aligned with brand strategy.
- Collaborate with product, merchandising, and production teams to finalize tech packs, fabrics, and silhouettes.
- Own design calendar, milestones, and approval processes to ensure on-time delivery.
- Oversee fit sessions, sample reviews, and quality control across prototypes and final garments.
- Present concepts to senior leadership, retailers, and buyers with compelling storytelling.
- Mentor junior designers and contribute to internal design education and inspiration.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on design experience in fashion, with strong portfolio across apparel.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and 3D/cad tools; textile knowledge is a plus.
- Excellent sense of proportion, color, and fabric drape; strong drawing and concept-sketching skills.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation abilities; ability to lead a project team.
- Experience with production-ready specs, tech packs, and fit reviews; familiarity with NYC fashion market is a plus.
- Ability to travel for fittings and showroom presentations as needed.
