VelaLux Fashion House is seeking a Senior Fashion Designer to lead the creative direction of our luxury womenswear collection. Based in New York City, you will collaborate with design, product development, and marketing teams to craft signature silhouettes that fuse timeless craft with modern sensibilities. Responsibility
- Lead concept development and sketching for seasonal collections aligned with brand identity.
- Translate concepts into technical flats, specifications, and production-ready samples.
- Collaborate with fabric sourcing, color, and trim teams to curate premium materials.
- Oversee fit sessions and ensure consistent sizing and quality across samples.
- Mentor junior designers and foster a collaborative studio culture.
- Partner with product development and merchandising to meet calendar milestones.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field; 5+ years in luxury womenswear.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating elevated design language, craft, and problem solving.
- Proficiency in CAD tools (Lectra, CLO, or Adobe Illustrator) and patternmaking.
- Experience with fabric sourcing, trims, and supplier management.
- Excellent understanding of garment construction, draping, fit, and QA.
- Strong communication and project management skills; ability to lead cross-functional teams.
