Responsibility

  • Lead planning and execution of forest management and timber harvest operations across assigned landscapes.
  • Design silvicultural prescriptions and oversee implementation in the field.
  • Conduct stand assessments, inventory protocols, and GIS-based mapping to support decision-making.
  • Monitor compliance with environmental laws, best management practices, and certification standards.
  • Coordinate with landowners, agencies, and contractors; manage budgets and schedules.
  • Mentor and supervise field crews; ensure safety and quality standards.
  • Prepare technical reports, progress updates, and data-driven recommendations for management plans.
  • Represent the organization in community and stakeholder engagement sessions.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Forestry, Natural Resources, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
  • 5+ years of professional forestry experience; supervisory experience required.
  • Professional Forester (PF) certification or Licensed Professional Forester (LPF) eligibility preferred.
  • Proficiency in GIS (ArcGIS or QGIS), data collection, and forest inventory methods.
  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to work in outdoor field conditions; willingness to travel.
  • Experience with timber harvest planning, ecological restoration, and sustainable management practices.
