Job description
TerraFuel Energy Partners is seeking a Senior Fossil Energy Engineer to join our Houston-based team. This role leads the design, optimization, and operation of onshore and offshore oil and gas projects with a focus on safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
As a senior engineer, you will partner with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver technically sound solutions from concept through commissioning, while driving performance improvements, cost control, and emission reductions.
Responsibility
- Lead the engineering design and optimization of fossil energy projects across exploration, development, and production
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards; uphold an Injury-Free culture
- Perform technical assessments including reservoir modelling, process simulations, and facility design; provide optimization recommendations
- Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and risk registers; monitor progress and mitigate issues
- Coordinate with operations, procurement, and construction teams to ensure safe and reliable handovers
- Mentor junior engineers; foster knowledge sharing and best-practice dissemination
- Support ESG reporting and emissions-reduction initiatives through data analysis and optimization
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum Engineering or related field; Master's preferred
- 7+ years of experience in oil & gas, fossil energy, or heavy industry
- Strong proficiency with industry-standard software (Petrel, Eclipse, Aspen HYSYS) and data analytics
- Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects
- Knowledge of HSE standards and regulatory requirements; PE license is preferred or eligible
- Ability to travel as needed to support field operations and client sites
