TerraNova Energy is seeking a Senior Fossil Energy Engineer to join our Houston, Texas team. This role focuses on leading engineering initiatives across upstream, midstream, and refining operations to maximize asset value, efficiency, and safety in fossil-based energy systems.
As a key member of our engineering organization, you will apply advanced reservoir and process engineering techniques, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive results from concept through execution.

Responsibility
- Lead technically diverse fossil energy projects, including upstream production optimization, midstream processing, and refining operations.
- Develop reservoir simulations, decline curve analyses, and production forecasts to support field development plans.
- Collaborate with Geoscience, Operations, HSE, and Commercial teams to define project scope, schedules, and budgets.
- Evaluate new technologies and EOR methods to improve recovery and efficiency while reducing emissions.
- Manage project execution plans, risk registers, and change controls to ensure on-time delivery and budget adherence.
- Provide mentorship to junior engineers and support professional development across the engineering organization.
- Ensure compliance with API standards, regulatory requirements, and internal HSE policies across all activities.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of engineering experience in fossil energy projects or operations (oil/gas/refining).
- Proficiency with reservoir simulation software (e.g., Eclipse, CMG) and data analysis tools (Python, SQL, Excel).
- Strong knowledge of HSE standards, API guidelines, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects with multi-million-dollar budgets.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
- Willingness to travel as required and ability to work in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.
