Job description

We are seeking a Senior Fossil Energy Engineer to drive technical leadership across our oil, gas, and power portfolios in the Houston region. You will shape the design, optimization, and execution of high-impact projects that improve efficiency, safety, and environmental performance.

As a key member of the engineering team, you will collaborate with operations, safety, regulatory affairs, and external partners to deliver reliable assets and profitable growth. This role offers a clear path to leadership, advanced analytics, and exposure to international energy programs.

Responsibility

  • Lead the design, optimization, and reliability efforts for fossil energy assets across upstream, midstream, and power segments.
  • Develop and implement process simulations, P&IDs, and capital project scopes to meet performance targets.
  • Collaborate with operations, HSE, and regulatory teams to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations.
  • Drive emissions reduction, energy efficiency, and data-driven decision making through advanced analytics and technology integration.
  • Mentor and coach junior engineers, conduct technical reviews, risk assessments, and QA/QC activities.
  • Manage project execution, budgets, schedules, and vendor relationships for brownfield and greenfield projects.
  • Lead cross-functional problem solving, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Petroleum Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in fossil energy engineering or related fields.
  • Strong proficiency with process simulation tools (Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus) and data analytics.
  • Solid understanding of safety standards and regulatory requirements (API, NFPA, OSHA).
  • Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary projects and lead technical teams.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with risk assessment, HAZOP, and change management processes.
