Join Apex Energy Solutions as a Senior Fossil Energy Engineer in our Houston office. You will lead high-impact upstream projects, applying your expertise in reservoir engineering, production optimization, and field development planning to maximize value while maintaining the highest safety and environmental standards. Responsibility
- Lead reservoir engineering analyses, production forecasting, and reserves estimation to support field development plans.
- Design and optimize drilling, completion, and facilities strategies in collaboration with drilling, geoscience, and operations teams.
- Apply advanced reservoir simulation, analytics, and EOR techniques to maximize recovery and minimize cost.
- Develop reliable performance dashboards, KPIs, and risk assessments to inform executive decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with HSE standards, regulatory requirements, and corporate governance policies.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and vendor relationships to deliver projects on time and within scope.
- Mentor junior engineers, lead technical reviews, and foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s in Petroleum, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering; Master’s degree preferred; PE license is a plus.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in fossil energy upstream operations, with a track record of successful field development and production optimization.
- Proficiency with reservoir simulation tools (Eclipse, Nexus, or similar) and production analytics; programming in Python or MATLAB is a plus.
- Strong understanding of drilling, completions, facilities, facilities design, and HSE compliance.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills; proven ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to travel as needed and work in a fast-paced environment in Houston.
