Job description

TerraNova Geoscience LLC is seeking a Senior Geologist to lead exploration and mineral-resource projects in the western United States. The ideal candidate combines field expertise with strong data analytics and client-facing communication.

As a Senior Geologist, you will supervise field mapping, rock sampling, core logging, and geotechnical investigations, while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality reports and resource estimates. You will mentor junior geologists, manage project budgets, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

Responsibility

  • Lead and supervise field mapping, sampling, and logging campaigns across multiple projects.
  • Develop and maintain geological models (2D/3D) and resource estimates using industry-standard software.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and health & safety compliance on field sites.
  • Coordinate with engineers, environmental scientists, and geophysicists to deliver integrated technical reports and client deliverables.
  • Liaise with clients, regulators, and stakeholders; present findings and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Mentor junior geologists, provide technical training, and support career development within the team.
  • Ensure data quality, QA/QC, and thorough documentation of methodologies, assumptions, and results.

Qualification

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Geology or a closely related earth-sciences field.
  • Minimum 5 years of field and project geology experience; exploration and resource estimation experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with GIS (ArcGIS, QGIS) and 3D modeling software (Leapfrog, Move, or equivalent).
  • Solid knowledge of stratigraphy, sedimentology, structural geology, and ore deposit characterization.
  • Experience with resource estimation and regulatory reporting; professional licensure (P.G.) preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to present complex findings to clients and stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel and work in field conditions; valid driver's license required.
