Job description

TerraNova Geosciences is seeking a dynamic Senior Geologist to join our Houston-based team. Responsibility

  • Plan and execute geological field campaigns, including mapping, sampling, logging, and core description.
  • Lead data collection, QA/QC, and integration of GIS and geophysical data into coherent geological models.
  • Supervise field crews, health and safety compliance, and field logistics.
  • Develop stratigraphic correlations, mineralization assessments, and hydrogeologic evaluations as needed.
  • Prepare technical reports, interpretive maps, and client-ready presentations.
  • Collaborate with environmental, mineral exploration, and engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Present findings to stakeholders and support permit applications and regulatory submittals.
  • Mentor junior geologists and support professional development within the team.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's in Geology or Earth Sciences; Master's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of field geology experience in exploration, mining, or environmental projects.
  • Strong proficiency in GIS (ArcGIS/QGIS), data management, and geological modelling tools (Leapfrog, Move, or similar).
  • Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills; ability to present complex data clearly.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards and field risk assessment.
  • Experience with environmental permitting and regulatory reporting is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams under tight deadlines.
