TerraNova Geoscience is seeking a Senior Geologist to lead field-based exploration programs and partner with our multidisciplinary teams in the Denver region. This role combines hands-on geology with strategic resource modelling to advance high-potential projects.
As a key member of the exploration team, you will drive geological mapping, sample collection, core logging, and data integration to deliver high-quality resource estimates and project plans. You will mentor junior geologists and collaborate with engineers, environmental specialists, and geotechnical teams to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations.

Responsibility
- Lead and supervise field geological programs, including mapping, sampling, logging, and core descriptions.
- Develop, test, and refine 3D geological models and resource estimates using industry-standard software.
- Plan and oversee drill programs; coordinate with contractors and internal teams to ensure quality and safety.
- Interpret assay data, integrate with structural geology, and contribute to resource calculations and feasibility studies.
- Prepare technical reports, maps, and presentations for stakeholders, regulators, and investors.
- Mentor and train junior geologists; promote best practices in data management, QA/QC, and HSE.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with mining engineers, environmental specialists, and GIS analysts to optimize exploration outcomes and project timelines.
Qualification
- Master's degree or PhD in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a closely related field.
- 5+ years of experience in mineral exploration or geological modelling in a real-world setting.
- Proficiency with GIS and 3D modelling tools (ArcGIS, Leapfrog, Vulcan, Micromine) and familiarity with resource estimation workflows.
- Strong field-based experience, core logging, and sample collection; familiarity with drill programs and mine permitting is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to produce clear technical reports and presentations for diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities; ability to manage field crews and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel and work in remote or adverse field conditions; commitment to safety and regulatory compliance (MSHA/OSHA).
- Publication, data management, or QA/QC experience is an advantage.
