At SummitEdge Manufacturing we are seeking a Senior Industrial Relations Specialist who will lead critical IR initiatives across our multi site operations. This role partners with leadership to cultivate a constructive labor relations climate, minimize risk, and advance strategic business goals. You will influence policy, support collective bargaining, and ensure compliance with applicable laws.
Key focus areas include union negotiations, employee relations, policy development, training, and data driven decision making. You will work with HR, operations, and safety teams to resolve complex matters and drive positive outcomes.
Responsibility
- Lead the development and execution of collective bargaining strategies and contract administration across manufacturing sites
- Advise executive and plant leadership on labor relations risks, workforce planning, and strategic initiatives
- Develop and implement workplace policies, grievance procedures, and performance management aligned with legal requirements
- Collaborate with HR, operations, and safety teams to resolve disputes and conduct investigations with fairness and rigor
- Monitor compliance with labor laws, union agreements, and regulatory filings; prepare reports for senior management
- Design and deliver supervisor training on IR best practices, negotiation, and employee communications
- Foster constructive relationships with union representatives and internal stakeholders to maintain productive partnerships
Qualification
- Bachelor or higher degree in HR, industrial relations, labor relations or related field; advanced degree preferred
- 5+ years of IR or labor relations experience in a manufacturing or unionized environment
- Proven track record in collective bargaining negotiations and contract administration
- Strong knowledge of US labor laws, OSHA, EEO, and compliance frameworks
- Analytical, investigative, and conflict resolution skills with data driven decision making
- Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management abilities
- Ability to travel as needed to support multiple sites
