Responsibility
- Lead data-driven underwriting analyses to inform risk selection and pricing for personal and commercial lines.
- Partner with underwriting managers, product teams, and claims to optimize policy language and coverage options.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and models (Excel, SQL, Tableau) to monitor portfolio performance and profitability.
- Evaluate regulatory and compliance implications for new products, pricing strategies, and filing requirements.
- Communicate insights and recommendations to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders with clarity and impact.
- Mentor junior analysts and support training programs to build team capability.
- Drive process improvements to reduce cycle times, improve loss ratios, and enhance customer outcomes.
- Collaborate with actuaries and data scientists on predictive analytics and portfolio optimization initiatives.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Risk Management, or related field; 5+ years in insurance underwriting, claims analytics, or risk management.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills; advanced proficiency in Excel, SQL, and data visualization tools (Tableau/Power BI).
- Experience with regulatory compliance, policy language, and pricing strategies within insurance products.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present complex insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- Professional certifications such as CPCU, ARM, or CFA are a plus.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of risk assessment, actuarial concepts, and portfolio optimization.
- Authorized to work in the United States; willingness to relocate to or work onsite in New York City.
