Responsibility

  • Lead underwriting for complex commercial accounts with strategic significance and large premium volumes.
  • Assess risk using loss history, exposure data, financials, and market trends to determine pricing and terms.
  • Collaborate with brokers and clients to understand needs and design tailored coverage solutions.
  • Develop pricing, attachment points, coverage forms, and endorsements in line with company strategy.
  • Review policy language for accuracy, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and manage endorsements.
  • Mentor and coach junior underwriters, sharing best practices and underwriting guidelines.
  • Monitor portfolio performance, implement risk mitigation strategies, and manage renewal strategy.
  • Maintain thorough documentation and foster strong broker relationships to maximize retention.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of commercial lines underwriting experience, with a track record of handling large accounts.
  • Strong knowledge of property, casualty, and specialty programs; experience with facultative and treaty quotes a plus.
  • Data-driven decision making with proficiency in pricing models and exposure analysis.
  • Professional designations such as CPCU, ARM, or CIC preferred.
