We are seeking a Senior Insurance Underwriter to join our dynamic New York team. You will evaluate complex risk, structure competitive products, and drive profitability for Commercial Lines clients. Responsibility
- Assess and underwrite commercial lines risks, ensuring alignment with company risk appetite and pricing strategy.
- Review financial statements, loss histories, and exposures to determine coverage and terms.
- Develop and justify pricing, endorsements, and policy terms to achieve profitability targets.
- Collaborate with brokers, clients, and cross-functional teams to structure tailored solutions.
- Maintain accurate risk classifications and policy records in the policy administration system.
- Monitor portfolio performance, identify trends, and recommend risk mitigation actions.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or related field; professional designations such as CPCU or ARM preferred.
- Minimum 5 years' professional underwriting experience in commercial lines or specialty insurance.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable pricing decisions.
- Proficiency with underwriting software (e.g., Guidewire, Duck Creek) and MS Office; data-driven mindset.
- Knowledge of applicable regulations, compliance standards, and policy terms.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and broker relationship management skills.
- Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams; strong organizational skills.
