Responsibility
- Lead underwriting for commercial and personal lines, evaluating risk, exposures, and pricing strategies.
- Collaborate with brokers and clients to gather information and present tailored coverage options.
- Review and issue policies, endorsements, and renewals with accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Develop pricing models and use rating engines to maintain profitable portfolio performance.
- Manage delegated underwriting authority, approvals, and audit readiness.
- Mentor and train junior underwriters, sharing industry best practices.
- Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes, updating underwriting guidelines as needed.
- Analyze portfolio performance metrics to identify opportunities for risk mitigation and growth.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of underwriting experience across commercial and personal lines.
- Strong knowledge of coverage forms, rating systems, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency with underwriting software and data analytics tools; experience with rating engines and data-driven decision making.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and client relationship skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Professional certification such as CPCU, ARM, or CIC is preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and work well in a collaborative team.
