Lumina Studio Interiors is seeking a Senior Interior Designer to lead luxury residential and boutique commercial projects in the heart of New York City. This role blends artistic vision with practical project management, collaborating with clients, contractors, and a multidisciplinary team to create timeless environments.
As a core member of our design studio, you will shepherd design concepts from initial briefing through construction documentation, ensuring every detailâfinishes, lighting, furniture, and acousticsâmeets the highest standards.

Responsibility
- Lead the full interior design process from concept to construction documentation for luxury residential and commercial projects in NYC.
- Develop design concepts, space planning, materials, color palettes, and finishes that align with client goals and brand standards.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, vendors, and clients; present designs and refine based on feedback.
- Create detailed drawings, 3D renderings, mood boards, and BIM-ready documents to communicate design intent.
- Oversee project budgets, schedules, procurement, and on-site coordination with contractors and fabricators.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, accessibility standards, and sustainable design practices.
- Mentor junior designers, manage workloads, and contribute to design studio processes and best practices.
- Source distinctive materials, furniture, and lighting; cultivate relationships with high-end vendors.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field; Master's preferred.
- 5+ years of professional interior design experience, with a portfolio showcasing luxury residential and/or commercial projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, 3ds Max, and Photoshop; strong rendering and presentation skills.
- Strong knowledge of materials, finishes, textiles, lighting, and procurement strategies.
- Excellent client management, communication, and leadership abilities; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Solid understanding of NYC building codes, permits, and coordination with contractors and consultants.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional visualization and design communication skills.
- Ability to mentor junior designers and contribute to studio-wide design standards and processes.
