Join Lumen & Loom Studio, a premium interior design firm based in New York City, renowned for crafting luxury residential and commercial environments that elevate daily life. We seek a Senior Interior Designer who can lead design development, manage client relationships, and oversee project delivery from concept through construction.
This role blends creative direction with precise execution, requiring a keen eye for materials, lighting, acoustics, and spatial storytelling. You will collaborate with our design team, engineers, and fabricators to transform ambitious ideas into tangible, beautiful spaces that perform brilliantly.
Responsibility
- Lead design development from concept through construction documentation for luxury residential and commercial projects.
- Collaborate with clients, project managers, and contractors to define scope, schedule, and budget.
- Present concept boards, 3D visuals, and detailed specifications to clients and stakeholders.
- Coordinate with lighting, MEP, and furniture consultants to ensure alignment with design intent.
- Develop FF&E, finishes, custom detailing, and material specifications with QA standards.
- Oversee project documentation, permits, procurement, and on-site QA visits.
- Mentor junior designers and ensure high-quality deliverables while maintaining project timelines.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Architecture; NCIDQ certification preferred.
- 5+ years of professional interior design experience in high-end residential or commercial settings.
- Strong concept development, space planning, and detailing skills with a portfolio showcasing luxury interiors.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite; skilled renderer is a plus.
- Excellent client-facing communication, presentation, and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced studio environment.
- Solid knowledge of building codes, sustainability standards, and procurement processes.
