Lumina Interiors is a premium, full-service interior design studio specializing in residential and boutique commercial projects. Our New York City team crafts timeless spaces that balance function and luxury. We are seeking an experienced Interior Designer to join our growing practice and lead feature-rich client projects.
In this role you will transform client visions into sophisticated, executable concepts, mentor junior designers, and collaborate with architects, contractors, and vendors to ensure impeccable delivery.
Responsibility
- Lead end-to-end interior design projects from concept through construction, ensuring design intent and client satisfaction.
- Develop space plans, material palettes, FF&E, lighting, and finishes that reflect the client brief and brand identity.
- Produce and manage detailed drawings and documents using AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp; oversee BIM coordination.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure seamless execution.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, procurement, and on-site visits to ensure quality and on-schedule delivery.
- Present design concepts to clients, refine based on feedback, and maintain strong client relationships throughout the project.
- Mentor and guide junior designers, fostering a collaborative, high-performance studio culture.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field; professional accreditation preferred.
- 5+ years of interior design experience in residential and boutique commercial projects.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite; strong 3D rendering capabilities.
- Solid knowledge of building codes, materials, FF&E, lighting, and sustainability considerations.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and client-management skills with a collaborative mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced studio environment.
- Strong portfolio illustrating design process from concept to construction documentation.
