Lumina Atelier Interiors is seeking a Senior Interior Designer to lead high-end residential and hospitality projects in the New York area. You will transform client briefs into award-winning spaces, balancing aesthetics, function, and sustainable practices.
As a senior designer, you will mentor junior designers, manage cross-disciplinary teams, and drive project timelines from concept through construction, ensuring outcomes that exceed client expectations.
Responsibilities span concept development, space planning, FF&E selection, and detailing, with an emphasis on material innovation and sustainable design.
Responsibility
- Lead concept development and master planning for complex interior projects.
- Develop comprehensive design documentation, elevations, and FF&E specifications.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure design intent and quality control.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and procurement, coordinating with vendors and clients.
- Mentor junior designers, review work, and promote design standards across the team.
- Present design concepts to clients, iterate based on feedback, and secure approvals.
- Oversee 3D visualization, materials library, and detailing for construction packages.
- Ensure adherence to sustainability goals and accessibility requirements.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field; Master’s preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of professional interior design experience, with luxury residential and/or hospitality work.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and 3D rendering software; strong BIM coordination.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating concept-to-construction projects and an eye for materiality.
- Excellent client-facing communication and presentation skills.
- Experience managing budgets, schedules, and vendor relationships.
- Knowledge of building codes, FF&E procurement, and sustainability practices.
- Ability to lead and inspire a team in a fast-paced, client-driven environment.
