Join Apex Interiors Studio, a premier NYC design firm renowned for luxury residential and high-end commercial interiors. We seek a Senior Interior Designer who leads creative vision from concept through completion. This role blends leadership, storytelling, and hands-on design execution to deliver iconic spaces for discerning clients.
You will partner with clients, architects, engineers, and vendors to translate ambitious briefs into refined, functional environments. The ideal candidate brings a strong portfolio, strategic thinking, and a passion for elevated materials, lighting, and detailing.
As a core member of our design leadership, you will manage project timelines, coordinate with production teams, and ensure design quality from schematic to construction administration. Excellent presentation, communication, and collaboration skills are essential.
Responsibility
- Lead the conception, presentation, and development of luxury interior concepts for residential and commercial projects.
- Develop design documentation including plans, elevations, details, and material boards for client reviews.
- Present design proposals to clients, refine concepts based on feedback, and secure approvals.
- Oversee space planning, furniture and finishes specification, lighting, and acoustics to achieve sculpted environments.
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, and vendors to manage timelines, budgets, and procurement.
- Guide construction administration, site visits, and QA to ensure accurate execution of design intent.
- Mentor junior designers, manage project teams, and uphold firm standards for documentation and presentation.
Qualification
- Bachelor or Master degree in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited program
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in luxury residential or commercial interiors
- NCIDQ certification preferred; LEED or WELL Certification a plus
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or CAD software, SketchUp or Revit, and 3D rendering tools
- Strong portfolio showcasing refined spaces with attention to materials, lighting, acoustics, and detailing
- Excellent client-facing communication and presentation skills; proven project management experience
- Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and vendor relationships; knowledge of construction processes
- Strong problem solving and collaboration abilities with a proactive design approach
