Job description

Lumina Interiors is seeking a Senior Interior Designer to join our New York City studio. This role leads luxury residential and commercial projects from concept through construction, delivering exceptional spaces and client experiences.

As a creative leader, you will collaborate with clients, architects, and suppliers to curate environments that balance aesthetics with function, sustainability, and budget considerations.

Responsibility

  • Lead end-to-end design for luxury residential and commercial interiors, from concept development to construction documentation.
  • Develop concept boards, space planning, FF&E selections, color palettes, and material specifications.
  • Collaborate with clients, project managers, architects, and consultants to align design intent with budget and schedule.
  • Create detailed drawings and specifications using Revit, AutoCAD, and SketchUp; oversee BIM coordination.
  • Manage vendor relationships, sourcing, budgets, and procurement for FF&E and finishes.
  • Mentor junior designers and present design concepts to clients with clarity and confidence.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, accessibility standards, and sustainability practices.

Qualification

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional interior design experience, with a strong portfolio of luxury spaces.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3ds Max, and the Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Excellent visualization, presentation, and communication skills; strong client management.
  • Knowledge of materials, finishes, FF&E procurement, and vendor management.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional license or accreditation is a plus.
