Join our premier Language Services team as an experienced Interpreter in London. We provide accurate, culturally informed interpretation across multiple sectors including business, legal, healthcare, and public sector. This is a full-time role designed for professionals who thrive in dynamic environments and maintain the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism.
As a key member of our interpretation team, you will deliver high-quality consecutive and, when required, simultaneous interpretation for meetings, conferences, video calls, and remote events. You will work with a diverse client base and support accessibility initiatives that remove language barriers.
Responsibility
- Provide consecutive and, when required, simultaneous interpretation for on-site and remote meetings, conferences, and events.
- Prepare and maintain terminology glossaries, memory aids, and subject matter notes to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Manage interpretation equipment (booth, headsets, microphones) and ensure proper setup and calibration before sessions.
- Confer with clients and project managers to clarify objectives, dialects, and required interpretation modes.
- Uphold strict confidentiality, impartiality, and ethical standards in all assignments.
- Draft post-session notes and deliver debriefs to clients and internal teams.
- Support interpreter scheduling, quality assurance, and workflow processes in a fast-paced environment.
- Adhere to client-specific terminology and industry standards across sectors including legal, corporate, healthcare, and public sector.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in interpreting, linguistics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum 2-3 years of professional interpretation experience in a bilingual or multilingual environment.
- Fluency in English plus at least one additional language; professional certification or membership (e.g., ITI, CIOL) is desirable.
- Excellent listening, memory, note-taking, and public speaking skills with strong cultural competence.
- Ability to work under pressure, handle high-stakes assignments, and manage tight deadlines.
- Proficiency with interpretation technologies and equipment; basic IT literacy and remote interpretation platforms.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and occasional weekends.
- Strong client-facing communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
