Join Aurora Language Solutions, a premier provider of professional interpretation services. We are seeking a seasoned Senior Interpreter to deliver high-fidelity consecutive and simultaneous interpretation for corporate events, legal proceedings, medical consultations, and international conferences in the New York metro area.
As a key member of our language services team, you will partner with clients and subject-matter experts to ensure accurate, culturally aware communication that respects confidentiality and industry standards.
Responsibility
- Provide consecutive and simultaneous interpretation across on-site and remote events for client meetings, conferences, legal proceedings, and medical settings.
- Prepare and maintain glossaries and memory aids for specialized topics to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Simultaneously interpret for live sessions using booth equipment when required, managing pace and terminology in real time.
- Collaborate with event organizers, speakers, and clients to pre-brief, clarify scopes, and confirm terminology.
- Translate and localize essential documents, briefs, and summaries with a strong attention to nuance and cultural context.
- Adhere to strict confidentiality, ethical guidelines, and industry standards (e.g., HIPAA where applicable).
- Mentor junior interpreters and provide feedback to maintain quality across engagements.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in interpretation, linguistics, or related field; advanced certification is preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of professional interpretation experience in high-stakes environments (conference, legal, medical).
- Fluency in English and Spanish with exceptional listening, memory, and note-taking skills.
- Experience with simultaneous interpretation equipment and booth operations; familiarity with CAT tools is a plus.
- Keen cultural competency, ethical judgment, and commitment to confidentiality.
- Ability to manage rapid term development, glossaries, and terminology under pressure.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and client-facing skills.
