Responsibility
- Provide high-accuracy consecutive and simultaneous interpretation in medical, legal, conference, and business settings
- Prepare and manage glossaries, terminology databases, and style guides for assigned industries
- Support clients with headset systems and interpretation equipment; troubleshoot minor tech issues
- Foster clear communication between speakers and audiences while maintaining neutrality and confidentiality
- Mentor and onboard junior interpreters; review performances and provide constructive feedback
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry terminology, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate with project managers to plan interpretation assignments, travel, and scheduling
- Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and adaptability when working with diverse speaker groups
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Interpretation, Linguistics, or a closely related field
- Professional interpretation certification preferred (CI, QCI, or equivalent)
- Minimum 3–5 years of interpretation experience across medical, legal, or conference settings
- Fluent in English and French, or English and another widely used language; strong command of simultaneous and consecutive interpreting
- Excellent note-taking, memory, and public-speaking skills
- Experience with interpretation equipment and remote interpretation platforms
- Ability to travel within the region and occasionally outside; compliance with privacy and confidentiality standards
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work under pressure with diverse audiences
