GlobalBridge Language Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Interpreter to join our in-house team in San Francisco. This role delivers accurate consecutive and simultaneous interpretation across healthcare, legal, and corporate events, supporting clients with clear cross-cultural communication. The ideal candidate is fluent in English and at least two additional languages, comfortable with fast-paced environments, and experienced in nuanced terminology.
As a primary interpreter, you will prepare glossaries, manage terminology resources, and collaborate with clients and other interpreters to ensure seamless communication. This is a full-time, on-site position with optional remote interpretation for select projects.
Responsibility
- Provide consecutive and simultaneous interpretation for meetings, conferences, medical appointments, court sessions, and training events.
- Prepare subject-specific glossaries and note-taking strategies to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Convey cultural nuances, tone, and register appropriate to each audience.
- Support remote interpretation via video and teleconferencing platforms when required.
- Collaborate with clients, project managers, and other interpreters to plan assignments and ensure terminology consistency.
- Uphold confidentiality, professional ethics, and client confidentiality in all assignments.
- Set up and troubleshoot interpretation equipment and test audio quality for on-site events.
Qualification
- Minimum bachelor's degree in languages, linguistics, or a related field.
- Certified or credentialed interpreter (e.g., CCHI, AIIC) preferred.
- Fluency in English and at least two additional languages; familiarity with medical or legal terminology is a plus.
- 5+ years of interpretation experience in healthcare, legal, or corporate settings.
- Excellent note-taking, memory, and rapid interpretation skills under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal and cultural mediation abilities; professional demeanor and communication.
- Proficiency with interpretation equipment and video conferencing platforms.
