We are seeking a seasoned Senior Interpreter with proven excellence in consecutive and simultaneous interpreting to support high-profile clients across industries.
In this role, you will collaborate with clients, event organizers, and on-site technicians to ensure flawless communication and cultural nuance. You will thrive in fast-paced environments, maintain strict confidentiality, and deliver accurate interpretations with professional ethics.
Responsibility
- Conduct consecutive interpreting during meetings, briefings, and court-like settings with accuracy and cultural sensitivity.
- Provide simultaneous interpreting in conferences using booth setup, equipment, and terminology management.
- Prepare glossaries and terminology lists for assigned clients; stay up-to-date on industry-specific vocabulary.
- Coordinate with event organizers, technicians, and clients to ensure smooth interpretation workflow from start to finish.
- Manage on-site quality control, troubleshoot equipment issues, and deliver timely debrief notes.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and uphold professional ethics and neutrality at all times.
- Build lasting client relationships and participate in business development for language services.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Interpretation, Linguistics, or related field; professional interpretation certification (e.g., NIC, AIIC, ATA) preferred.
- 5+ years of professional interpretation experience in both consecutive and simultaneous modes.
- Fluency in English plus at least two additional languages relevant to target markets (e.g., Mandarin, Malay, Tamil, Spanish).
- Exceptional listening, memory, note-taking, and public speaking skills with a strong sense of accuracy.
- Proficiency with interpretation equipment, booth operations, and remote interpreting platforms (e.g., Zoom, Interprefy).
- Excellent intercultural communication, client-facing service, and ability to perform under pressure.
- Willingness to travel up to 30% for on-site events and assignments.
