We are a dynamic, award-winning newsroom based in New York City seeking a Senior Journalist to join our editorial team. This role demands sharp reporting, clear storytelling, and a commitment to accuracy and fairness across digital and print formats. You will collaborate with editors, photographers, and data teams to produce engaging stories that resonate with a broad audience.
Responsibility
- Lead investigative reporting and enterprise stories from concept through publication across digital and print platforms.
- Develop story ideas, conduct rigorous research, and manage multiple assignments with tight deadlines.
- Conduct in-depth interviews, verify facts, analyze data, and synthesize information into compelling narratives.
- Collaborate with editors, photographers, and designers to produce multimedia storytelling including video and podcasts.
- Edit and fact check articles for accuracy, fairness, and adherence to editorial standards and AP style.
- Mentor and provide constructive feedback to junior reporters and interns.
- Monitor newsroom ethics and ensure compliance with industry standards and newsroom policies.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field; equivalent professional experience considered.
- 5+ years of newsroom reporting experience with a proven portfolio of investigative or enterprise stories.
- Excellent writing, reporting, and storytelling skills with a track record of clear, accurate copy under deadline.
- Proficiency in digital storytelling, data journalism, and basic multimedia skills (video, audio, photo editing).
- Strong interviewing, research, and fact-checking abilities; solid editorial judgment.
- Knowledge of AP style and newsroom ethics; ability to collaborate in a diverse environment.
- Fluent in English; multilingual skills a plus.
